ABOUT ME

Welcome to my website… I’m Will Hextall, a director and screenwriter based in Stevenage & London. I started my journey training as an actor at the renowned Big Spirit Youth Theatre, then at 18 years old, directing a production Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Hedda Gabler’, winning a NODA award for Best Drama. Recently I presented “The Blockbuster Show” on SG1 Radio, a movie themed radio programme featuring the latest film gossip and interviews with industry professionals. These experiences have shaped my style as a filmmaker!

Since spending many an hour scouring the bonus features of DVDs (Childhood favourites: Indiana Jones & Ghostbusters), I have been hungry to learn everything I can about how films are made. Now I have “lined my stomach” by studying a BA Hons in Film and Television Production at London Metropolitan University but my appetite to seize opportunities in this exciting, rollercoaster of an industry has never been stronger.

On the small screen, I enjoy watching brilliant television dramas like BBC’s Line of Duty and ITV’s Broadchurch… also a dedicated fan of Doctor Who.

On the silver screen anything from Taxi Driver and Forrest Gump to 1917 and Moonlight floats my boat… My guilty pleasures are Romcoms like Love Actually & Notting Hill (sshh).

I strive to bring the biggest and boldest drama and comedy ideas to life on screen, telling stories that examine the human experience through creative visual storytelling.
